Yes, I Actually Wore Shorts and a Tee In September/October...In Chicago

The fall equinox was a scam.
Your girl THRIVES in the fall time. Call me "basic," roll your eyes, whatever — you do you — but I feel like I come alive during this season. I have built my entire wardrobe around skinny jeans, chunky sweaters, and heeled booties. So, please imagine how heartbroken I felt for the solid couple of weeks where it was well over 80 degrees (Fahrenheit); it ironically started on the first official day of fall.

I digress from all my first world anger about the weather BUT CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL, PEOPLE.

I went to get brunch (read: lots and lots of bellinis) with my number one stunners and this is what I wore so that I wouldn't melt into a puddle.

I constantly reached for this Zara skort all summer long, so I thought it could make another bare-legged appearance before I throw on some tights with it when Mother Nature decides she wants to transition into the cooler temps. But forget the skort because the shirt is what caught my eye and what I was really pumped to wear out as I ate overpriced, but delicious, breakfast tostadas.

When I first saw it, I immediately thought of Stranger Things because of the epic font. Everything about it — from the color to the material — made me fall in love with it, but I did want to address the actual statement on the shirt, too.
I'm a gay/lesbian/queer woman (and I'm comfortable identifying across all these labels) and pretty much bought this T-shirt because it spoke to my gay ass heart. Sure, you can interpret it as a badass #feminist slogan or a #powerful nod to strong women (which I completely respect), but I just wanted to be real with you.

And that's that.

Side Note: I've been toying with the idea of changing some of the direction of my blog and am still trying to figure it out, but hopefully there's more to come on that very, very soon!
