In's & Out's No. 8

Last "In's & Out's" was in September - man, crazy how 4-5 months can fly by! These are a little more personal in the sense that they are tailored to me, not any trend or "hype" that is happening, for the most part! Awesomely enough, there are way more "In's" - enjoy!
xx
O&C

In's:
- Putting a collared shirt under jumpers/sweaters - especially if the sweater has a graphic on it (I've been too addicted to this)
- Naps (I just found out how to re-incorporate them into my life)
- My new glasses! Well...okay, they're the same except my frames were ruined so I got the same exact pair again and the same style in black too!
- Vanilla ice-cream with bananas in it during the wintertime
- Reading during my commute to/from work
- Black leather/pleather overalls (pants)
- Drinking lots and lots of water with some frozen fruit in it
- Hats - always
- Leopard (for me)- I can't wait to rock some leopard and mint colored things together!
- Speaking of leopard: my new UNIF X Nastygal 'Hellbound' shoes  - I'm now 6 inches taller! You can see my new babies in the picture below:

I paired them with my AA frill socks

Out's:
Ombré hair - for me at least, I'm so happy mine is almost gone (who knows if I'll revisit it, we had a good time :P)
- Cold weather + rain
- Spending so much money on lunch everyday
- Creative mind blocks
- Huge backpacks that whack you in the face while you're on the bus/train :(
- Crocs -always - especially when worn with 5 layers of socks in the middle of winter...just, no, please.
- People who are assholes, obviously

Tumblr Tuesday + Tegan & Sara

It's Tumblr Tuesday...again! Some photos that I've reblogged on my Tumblr catch my eye and I thought I'd share . Also, posting one of my favorite songs off of Tegan & Sara's new album "Heartthrob" since it comes out TODAY! Definitely going to buy that bad boy after work (even though I've heard the album about a million times by now). I've been waiting for the 29th to roll around for far too long!
Oh, and did I mention it's 60°F in Chicago...in January?

Shoes on Sale

Picked up some shoes over the weekend on maximum sale! If you know me by now, you know that I'm a bargain hunter. So when I came across a lonely pair of the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M white sneakers I tried them on and they fit (they said size 5 and I came to realize it was men's sizing AKA they fit my size 6 1/2 feet perfectly!). Now, I still saw the $130 price tag but I still went up to ask if that was the price or if they had been reduced and sweet baby jesus, they were $30! I pretended not to be so shocked but inside my heart was singing and I took out my credit card asap and bought those bad boys with me! Saving $100 felt so good - as if I had won the lotto, and on a Margiela x H&M piece nonetheless. But where do we stand with designer collections being sold at retailers such as H&M? Is there less value in these items because they are not $15K+? Or do the customers who buy these capsule pieces not understand the designer and their aim? I can sit here and say that I admire people who follow and are die hard for their designers and their mission statement behind their collections. My only question is: why bash the collections sold at H&M (Target, too) when the designers agreed to do this and share a more cost-friendly version of their art? Or is this a matter of who should have access to these things?
Just mind ramble, but my stance goes: I buy what I like and it's better if it's on sale.
Also bought sweet velvet skull loafers from Zara for $20 (from their $50 price tag) - they're perfect.

Holographic Pieces - Yay/Nay?

ARE WE INTO IT?!
I created a mini "collage" of some of the holographic/iridescent pieces that I've seen floating around on the internet (and you can see it at the end of this text post). I personally have my eye on the oxford shoe in the middle by Miista; I have some silver tin-foilesque oxfords that I got from Target and they slighly remind me of these...I'm a creature of habit, what can I say? I, personally, love it even though it is one of those "on trend" moments. Everyone from Stella McCartney to Proenza Schouler have made some pieces that have this cool effect.
But the question remains: Are we into it? Is it overdone? Is it tacky or just right?

E V I L F A C E | UNIF Part 2 of 2

I told you that I loved the other sweater so much that I bought a similar one, and I went with my immediate "obsession" filled gut and bought them together. I was either going to hate them or love them, and well...we all know where I stand; UNIF, I love you so. The oatmeal color gives some light back into my wardrobe and the fact that it has a little evil face on it makes my inner alter grunge ego so happy. I paired it with my new American Apparel disco pants (and didn't know if to keep the sweater tucked in or out) and the same shoes as the last post. PS: Sorry for the photo bombardment, I just couldn't decide what would go up!

M E O W | UNIF Part 1 of 2

I was contemplating on whether or not I should get the "meow" sweater by UNIF, but I bit the bullet and bought it off of Dollskill and love it so much! The material is heavy without being too hot, it's slightly shorter in the front, it has a cat on it and the best part of all: it has fringed sleeves! Such a unique twist to a sweater. I wanted to shoot an outfit for it as soon as I got it but I ran out of ideas on how to wear it/style it (which is weird because I now have thought of a million). I ran to my comfort zone: all black. Paired it with my newest obsession: my Jeffrey Campbell 'Tardy' shoes.
I loved this sweater so much, I also got a similar one that I'll post tomorrow!

Can't Stop, Won't Stop

Let's face it...I buy a lot of sh*t and I haven't posted on here in a while, so I thought I'd do a post on some of the things I've purchased recently that are my favorites. I have so much more to shoot/blog about and more items coming in the mail any day now, but we can save that for another time. I'll also try to style some of these pieces in real outfit of the days and such. For now, here are some of the items of my materialistic habits  - and they make me happy.
PS: Singing in the song actually starts at around the 18 second mark - enjoy!
