Essie Holiday '13 Gift Set

I hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays with great food, family and friends! Even though Christmas may be over, the holiday mood is still in full effect, so I thought I'd make a quick post about the Essie Holiday '13 gift set. I was at a Target when I spotted this beautiful set and needed to have it! //truth be told, it was a potential gift for someone but I got them something else = win win// It retailed for about $15 and carries five of Essie's most popular and sought after colors. They are smaller in size (compared to a regular Essie polish) - but it is completely worth it if you want to test out some seriously dynamic nail colors. They were definitely opaque and carry the right amount of color variation you would need to start a collection, or expand on one. I am obsessed with painting my nails frequently and I give this set an A+, so if you can still find this, I'd snatch it up to have options for a New Year's party!

Third Time's A Charm

*Waves like a 7 year old seeing their best friend across the street on the first day of school* I've had a couple of different posts to put up but it has been pretty hard to just focus on writing it down, and to be honest I gave myself a mini-heartattack thinking that I might lose all my eye sight by the time I'm 25 because of how much I'm on the computer every single day.
If I'm being even more truthful, the holidays are upon us and all I want to do is lounge around, binge on Netflix, drink the occasionally cliche hot chocolate and cuddle with my cats. But I thought it was time to buckle down and put up a new post because that's what I love doing.
This year I've seen plenty of "Holiday Wishlists" // "Holiday Gift Guides" floating around blogs and I really took a moment to be selfish and think about what I wanted. Surprisingly enough, clothes/bags/makeup (things I automatically can list off) did not pop into my head. I think in the past couple months I have purchased anything that could have been on my "want/need" list, from those categories at least. I did, however, come up with three categories that have three items in each I've got my eye on - you can click on the links below the images if you like what you see and want to know where to get it.
What's on your list?

Cozy Fall Outfit of the Day

It's finally starting to feel like Fall! Ever since my shopping trip at Brandy Melville in California, I can't seem to stop wearing the pieces I snagged in different ways. I recently received my Deandri wooden platform shoes and thought that it would look perfect with a slouchy cardigan or a dress. So, I decided to take my oversized creamy knit top and rock it like a dress (hey, I'm short...so it works) - paired with my favorite slouchy beanie + cardigan and I had the easiest, laziest, comfiest fall outfit in a couple of minutes. It's pretty simple with the basic colors and layers, and that's how I like it. You can watch my YouTube video at the end of this post or by clicking here.

California Vlog!

I finally got around to filming another video on my YouTube channel :) I recently went on a quick extended weekend vacay to California where I stayed in Santa Monica and had fun in the sun.

Alexander Wang 'Rocco' - AKA "Sir Alexander"

After tons of saving, researching and lusting - I pulled the trigger and bought the ALEXANDER WANG 'Rocco' bag w/ Rose Gold hardware a little over a month ago. I opted for the black pebbled leather and mygod, this baby is soft. When I first saw this back 1+ year ago, I instantly fell in love - the price tag definitely slowed my beating heart down. I gave myself a goal to treat myself after working at my first job post-grad for at least 1 year as a congratulations to starting off my career. I have probably asked at least 10+ different people if I should buy it and this is seriously one of the best materialistic purchases I have made. It is a bit heavy due to the studs at the bottom, but it was worth every penny! I bought it from Shopbop (click here to check it out) because I love their service.
I'm so happy, definitely poorer,  but happy nonetheless.
I'm sure you'll see this purse in better photographs/more posts in the future.

Rebel Roses

I love a great "kimono" - the bigger, looser and hippy-ish it can get, the better!

Sidenote: I updated my header since it was time for a change, but I'm starting to think I've fallen a little hard over flowers/roses this month.
Oh, and I've been listening to a lot of remixes lately, too.

All Over It

Overalls/Dungarees/Shortalls...whatever you call it - they're everywhere! From festivals to fancy dinners, I have seen people rockin' this style so many different ways. It's an easy summer piece that can be transitioned to fall (check out those overall pants (pictures 3 & 4) ). I think I fell in love with a lady rockin' leather pant overalls with a striped crop-top underneath with red converse a couple of weeks ago.
With so many different denim washes, styles, fit...I'm surprised I haven't gone overall crazy too - but if I'm being honest, having to go through all of the steps to go to the bathroom doesn't seem completely worth it; ain't nobody got time for that.

m e o w

Since the last time I updated I've really been having a music-filled summer - went to Pitchfork, VEVO Lift and Lollapalooza. I'd like to say that out of all the acts across different festivals/concerts, I'm still blown away that I got to see Lana Del Rey live and pretty f*ckin' close.
Now I can finally ease into really setting up my room/the rest of the apartment - decorating is hard and expensive. I've also been trying to find a good place in the apt. to shoot some quick OOTD's, and I think I found a decent lil' spot.
I threw on my cat lady dress that reminded me of my little white cat, Mila. I'm one of those people.

Pitchfork 2013

Post-Pitchfork blues are in full effect - Sunday's line-up was just so perfect. It was my first year going to this festival and I don't know why I've been snoozin' on it. I was lucky enough to go on Friday with co-wokers and got to scope out the scene for my Sunday adventure. I tried to hit up every stage from Blood Orange to R.Kelly. I loved seeing Sky Ferreira but M.I.A.stole my heart, her set was incredible (even if the sound was all types of effed up). Bumped into a lot of friends and had such a great time. I decided to rock my hair up in milk-maid braids, threw on my easy Wildfox dress and strapped on my doc martens. I love summertime Chi!
