Obsession: Erin Wasson

Erin Wasson. Erin Wasson. Erin Wasson. She has been a style/lifestyle inspiration for so long now and it's surprising that I didn't make a post on her any earlier. I don't know if there's any other person that could look as phenomenal as she does from behind, contorted, blurry,eyes closed, and hair in face. She has such a classic edge to her that is inspiring to me. Simply put: she's my icon.

Obsession: Miley Cyrus

Okay, I know I'm going to get a lot of slack for this, but I never guaranteed a 100% likeable post for anybody who looks at this blog. Yes, as the title states, I'm obsessing over the one and only: Miley Cyrus. It may be the super toned, "I go to pilates 6 days a week" body, or that simple staple blonde bun, but Miley has got me thinking the cliche 'I wish I was her' thought. I've been loving her simple but edgy, very AA, street-style. There's a lot of high waisted short action and fantastic sunnies.  Anyways, I have a couple of favorite outfits that I've bookmarked and thought I'd post them up here - I'd seriously love to rock each one. She's come a long way from her Hannah Montana days, I swear!

When I found this 'dress' I was BEYOND excited. The possibilities of wearing this bad boy are endless and I'm definitely going to be repeat offending! At first I contemplated dressing it up with some heels and a slick bun but it's summer and I wanted to go for a casual and easy look. What screams summer than some white chucks, and of course, messy hair? I also have a video version of this outfit at the end of the photo roll in this blog post. Enjoy!

Work Life

Well, here we are...it's Wednesday, which means its been the third day since working at my job in my career line. It still feels like I'll only be here for the summer and that I'll be returning back to school in the fall but that's not the case. I'm on a new chapter in my life and so far its been great. The people are super comforting and welcoming and the atmosphere is always alive. This industry is a really interesting one and I feel like I'm learning so much. Did I mention that I wasn't pressured to sacrifice my style? Awesome, right? I think I just gotta' get used to the time changes- no more waking up at noon, only to lounge around and spend time with my cat and parade around the city with friends (<--what I was doing a couple of days ago). Let the good times roll.

Mini-Summer Lookbook

                       

To break in the first day of June, I uploaded a mini-summer lookbook onto youtube with easy, "throw-on" type of outfits. I contemplated doing something like this for quite some time but always nervous of the outcome/criticism, I put it on hold. Nonetheless, life is too short to limit your happiness and creativity, so I went with it. Got a lot of love and positive feedback, especially from one of my favorite youtubers (even though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea). So here it is for the blog - enjoy!
