Boyfriend Jeans Without the Boyfriend • OOTD

White top- Zara / Plaid shirt - BDG / Jeans - Zara/ Heels  - Jeffrey Campbell/ Bag - Alexander Wang
Let's face a couple of facts here:
- I don't need a boyfriend to rock "Boyfriend Jeans"
- I am gay
- I have a girlfriend (who doesn't wear this style of jeans)

I couldn't deny a pair of baggy, ripped jeans when I eyed this pair at Zara a couple of months ago. I think they're easy to chuck on with a graphic tee and you can still look like you tried...kinda. This time I decided to pair it with a basic top and a flowy plaid button up (I use the term "flowy" loosely as it's more of a baggier top...which is what I go for 99% of the time - I just like to be comfortable, okay?!) To not be completely swallowed by my top and bottoms (#shortgirlstruggle), I finally decided to wear my Jeffrey Campbell Soiree heels to elongate me a bit. The whole putting outfit thing together thing = easy. The whole walking in heels = not so much. PS. DON'T FORGET TO CLICK 'PLAY' ON THE YOUTUBE VIDEO I DID FOR THIS OOTD - IT'LL BE IN BETWEEN SOME OF THE POST PHOTOS.

Holographic Pieces - Yay/Nay?

ARE WE INTO IT?!
I created a mini "collage" of some of the holographic/iridescent pieces that I've seen floating around on the internet (and you can see it at the end of this text post). I personally have my eye on the oxford shoe in the middle by Miista; I have some silver tin-foilesque oxfords that I got from Target and they slighly remind me of these...I'm a creature of habit, what can I say? I, personally, love it even though it is one of those "on trend" moments. Everyone from Stella McCartney to Proenza Schouler have made some pieces that have this cool effect.
But the question remains: Are we into it? Is it overdone? Is it tacky or just right?

E V I L F A C E | UNIF Part 2 of 2

I told you that I loved the other sweater so much that I bought a similar one, and I went with my immediate "obsession" filled gut and bought them together. I was either going to hate them or love them, and well...we all know where I stand; UNIF, I love you so. The oatmeal color gives some light back into my wardrobe and the fact that it has a little evil face on it makes my inner alter grunge ego so happy. I paired it with my new American Apparel disco pants (and didn't know if to keep the sweater tucked in or out) and the same shoes as the last post. PS: Sorry for the photo bombardment, I just couldn't decide what would go up!

M E O W | UNIF Part 1 of 2

I was contemplating on whether or not I should get the "meow" sweater by UNIF, but I bit the bullet and bought it off of Dollskill and love it so much! The material is heavy without being too hot, it's slightly shorter in the front, it has a cat on it and the best part of all: it has fringed sleeves! Such a unique twist to a sweater. I wanted to shoot an outfit for it as soon as I got it but I ran out of ideas on how to wear it/style it (which is weird because I now have thought of a million). I ran to my comfort zone: all black. Paired it with my newest obsession: my Jeffrey Campbell 'Tardy' shoes.
I loved this sweater so much, I also got a similar one that I'll post tomorrow!

Collection | Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita'

Is this really my first 'collection' post?! No better way to start one than with something I didn't even realize I was collecting... Anywho, I'd like to talk about a pair shoes that I love - they're the 'Lita' by Jeffrey Campbell. I bought my first pair (the mustard colored ones) from Karmaloop in March/April of 2011. I was hooked because of how insanely comfortable they were/are. As a girl ringing in at 5 feet tall, I like some height but sometimes heels do not equal comfort. The 5 1/2ish" heel is not bad because it's so chunky (wooden) and is helped out by the 2" platform in the front. When I first bought them, colors were limited, but now you can get them in virtually any color, print/pattern, material (canvas, leather, suede, velvet, etc). Of course, plenty of people may think that they're "played out" and "overdone", but again, I absolutely do not care. I found something I like, that I can wear all day and that looks pretty bomb (in my opinion). As for sizing, I'm a 6.5 and they run true to size, but my Cosmic print and Red Spikes are a size 6 and fit a bit more snug than my other 6.5 Litas, but are still comfortable nonetheless.
I now own 5 beautiful pairs, 2 of which were given to me as gifts, but let me let you in on a secret: I've never paid full price for these shoes...EVER. I've scored great deals on Karmaloop (where I got my mustard, black and cosmic print), Nastygal (where I got my American flag print) and Solestruck (where I got my red spikes). You can still look fresh on a budget; they are totally worth the price, though, if you love 'em, snatch 'em up!
So rock your Litas with pride! I know I do!
PS: Do you like the gif? I finally learned how to make it and thought it would be a cool concept to show of my babies beyond a still photo, haha :)

Style Profile: Ruth Litzenberger

When I first met her she had short hair with a blonde patch in it, braces and a heart of gold. Though some of those phsyical things might have changed, her heart remains the same and we've been best friends for over 7 years. Needless to say, we've seen each other grow in and out of styles but if there's one thing about Ruth that stays consistant in her fashion, and that is her love for color. She spices it up with patterns, textures, and of course...her out of this world jewelry (I'm not kidding - she has everything from a gnome necklace to humpty dumpty earrings - both pictured below; she also has quite the collection of sugar skull jewelry!) Eccentric doesn't begin to cover her style and way of being, but it comes pretty damn close. She's always been true to who she is and how she wants to dress - abiding by no rules and unafraid of what people may think. You can catch her walking out the house in 6 inch heels, a tutu, an embroidered top, jewlery from Peru and mint green lips. Not only does she have her unique eye for body decor, but she is an advocate of equal rights and challenges  the way you might think about certain causes - I swear, I'm always learning a thing or two from her. I've always admired her creativity and self-expression and am glad to call her more than a best friend, because she's my sister.
You can see some of her inspirations on her Tumblr page!
