Boyfriend Jeans Without the Boyfriend • OOTD

White top- Zara / Plaid shirt - BDG / Jeans - Zara/ Heels  - Jeffrey Campbell/ Bag - Alexander Wang
Let's face a couple of facts here:
- I don't need a boyfriend to rock "Boyfriend Jeans"
- I am gay
- I have a girlfriend (who doesn't wear this style of jeans)

I couldn't deny a pair of baggy, ripped jeans when I eyed this pair at Zara a couple of months ago. I think they're easy to chuck on with a graphic tee and you can still look like you tried...kinda. This time I decided to pair it with a basic top and a flowy plaid button up (I use the term "flowy" loosely as it's more of a baggier top...which is what I go for 99% of the time - I just like to be comfortable, okay?!) To not be completely swallowed by my top and bottoms (#shortgirlstruggle), I finally decided to wear my Jeffrey Campbell Soiree heels to elongate me a bit. The whole putting outfit thing together thing = easy. The whole walking in heels = not so much. PS. DON'T FORGET TO CLICK 'PLAY' ON THE YOUTUBE VIDEO I DID FOR THIS OOTD - IT'LL BE IN BETWEEN SOME OF THE POST PHOTOS.

LOOKBOOK x THE FRYE COMPANY OOTD

Kimono- Brandy Melville / Sunnies - Celine / Bag +Boots + iPad Case - Frye / Top - Zara/ Shorts- H&M
I'm very excited to share with you how I styled the pieces that I won from the Lookbook x The Frye Company Instagram contest! On 5/15 I went to the Lookbook Spring Style party held at the Frye store in Chicago. Before getting there, I had received a DM on Instagram saying that I had won a pair of shoes, accessories and a styling session with one of their profiled bloggers. My jaw fell to the floor and I was on a serious high. Fast forward to the event...it was great! Not gonna' lie, it was my first blogger event so I was a bit nervous but I'm so happy I went because I was able to vibe and chat with fellow bloggers while sippin' on some delicious cocktails. My stylist for the night was Jessie from Mini Penny and she was the absolute bomb.com. She helped me pick out some stellar pieces, gave me some of her personal tips + tricks and talked about our favorite joints in the city. You can check out some of the photos from the party here.
Thank you so much to Lookbook.nu and The Frye Company for such a fantastic event and phenomenal goodies I got to take home. I also started using the lookbook platform again, so you can check out my profile here
Check out the photos below and let me know what you think!
I also did a video for this post (which I'm quite proud of)...so don't forget to check that out too!

Cozy Fall Outfit of the Day

It's finally starting to feel like Fall! Ever since my shopping trip at Brandy Melville in California, I can't seem to stop wearing the pieces I snagged in different ways. I recently received my Deandri wooden platform shoes and thought that it would look perfect with a slouchy cardigan or a dress. So, I decided to take my oversized creamy knit top and rock it like a dress (hey, I'm short...so it works) - paired with my favorite slouchy beanie + cardigan and I had the easiest, laziest, comfiest fall outfit in a couple of minutes. It's pretty simple with the basic colors and layers, and that's how I like it. You can watch my YouTube video at the end of this post or by clicking here.

American Summer

Summer is the season that ignites all of your favorite memories - sandy hair, backyard grilling, ice-cream runs, short shorts, music blasting in the car as you drive down the highway... and the list can go on and on. This past weekend I was able to indulge in a little summer memory making by going to Lake Geneva. It's such a beautiful and serene place; a hidden gem. I got ready that morning with no expectations of going there, so I threw on my summer uniform: shorts, tee, booties and sunnies (hat optional because of the heat). Had I known there was a 26 mile trail/walk, I would have decked myself out in something a little more...athletic. I went with my family and my sister snapped these quick little photos. The scenery was so beautiful, I have to go back!
I want to do more trips like this, so if there's any cool suggestions floating around on the interwebs, let me know - cheers to the summa'time!
