OOTD: Metallic & Oxblood

Definitely having a case of the 'Lazy Sunday's' but because the weather has been confusingly warmer (not that I'm complaining!), I decided to sort-of "dress up". This outfit is so comfy but still manages to look like there was a bit of effort to it, when in reality...I just threw everything on without thinking about it. Of course, I had to pull my hair up in a messy bun so no hair would be in my face. Funnily enough, as I type this out I realize I have not worn anything (from my outfit) before! But two of the newest items are my black bucket bag and new boots (which were described in the color of 'Oxblood'). Decided I would post up this outfit of the day (OOTD) since its been a while and I have to thank my sister for taking the pictures! I hope everyone's having a fabulous weekend. Enjoy!

In's & Out's No. 6

I usually don't post In's and Out's so close to each other, or update them so frequently because I like the excitement and new experiences/thoughts to fully kick in, but I thought, "Why not?" So here's the first In's and Out's of this year! Enjoy!

In's:

-Braiding a small portion of my hair and pinning it back. I don't know if it's because I'm used to having my hair shaved on the left side (Circa Sept./Oct. 2010, or if I generally hate hair in my face), but I've been doing this non-stop.

-The new tights my bestie got me. Cream with  minted polka-dots. uh.maze.ing.

- My Bobble water bottle. I bought it when I went to the UK last summer and have rekindled my relationship with it.

- Sheer blouses...still

- Sunlight

- Gum...and obsession since I can remember.

- Flourescent neon sticky notes

- Pastels making a come-back...even tough they never left my closet!

Out's:

- Breaking a nail...it sounds so cliche, but it hurted!

- The cold.

- The overpriced sunglasses I want...and am trying to justify the price for it...so the MONEY is the 'out' not the glasses!
- 

- Self-doubt. That shit is soooo out of my life!

- Makeup that's been on for 8+ hrs without a touch-up (for me)

- Becoming more and more scared of 'scary' movies...they used to be my favorite genre! Dang!

Cheers to the first post of the year!
So as the year of 2011 came to an end, I was lucky enough to spend it with my best friend watching one of our favorite shows (Misfits), eating a delicious meal prepped by my mommy, and going out to ring in the new year in Wicker Park with the best person in the universe...yes, I said the universe. It was magical *cue fairy dust sounding music...you know what I'm talking about* 

I always feel that you do not have to wait for a full 365 days to start something new, you can create and act at any time of the year. I will, however, follow through with some of my New Year's Resolutions for the new year (some that I'm working on, and others that are nice to think about).

I hope everyone had a beautiful celebration, enjoy the music, list and photos!

PS:. The list could be endless, but I'll stick to 10.

Laugh more. It's one of those feelings you get that just make your day a hundred times better...especially when it's one of those 'I-can't-breathe-right-now-but-o.m.g.-this-is-too-epic-not-to...still-can't-breathe-I'm-crying* laughs. 

Be more active. I sincerely enjoy running and some sports (ie. volleyball and tennis), so why not indulge in it more often if it makes me feel good?

Shoot photos in film. No matter what anyone says, film can't die, even if it is only one person's passion - it can't die.

Travel. Thankfully I've been doing it more and it's making me experience life on a different level. I love it!

Try new food. I'm a creature of habit when it comes to food, so if you have any good recommendations, let me know! Even better if my hands get messy :)

Fall asleep on my roof. <-- Pretty straight-forward.

Chase the career path I think is intangible.  Currently in progress :)

DO GOOD. It's easy to get wrapped up in my own world, but I have to remember that what I put into life, I will receive when life gives back.

Go out more/socialize. Life's too short to not cross paths with people who are spectacular.

Embrace myself. I'm not going to lie, I can be hard on myself, but that's only a disservice to the potential I have. *In progress, as well*

Ins:

- A brand-spankin' fresh New Year right around the corner. What's not to love about the enthusiasm people have about turning a 'new leaf'.

- My hair dye fading. I'm a little sad that it's fading, but I can't help to love how many different shades of pink is going on!

- Claws. On bags, socks, earrings...anything. I know it's a passing fad, but I've been sucked into its entirety.

- NYLON magazine's January 2012 issue (with Dianna Agron on the cover). I'm diggin' the 60's re-revival (because you know it's too amazing, it keeps coming back)

- Me and my best friend's (Ruth) obsession with shoes. We literally gasp on the phone over the stunning and ecelctic shoes we find. YES!

Outs:

- This dreary weather. Seriously...it's putting a damper on my days...see what I did there? ;)

- Driving to work in the dark, driving back home in the dark (see above 'out' for why there is a lack of sunlight)

- My Apple headphones not working anymore (the right ear bud at least). Don't get me wrong, I have other headphones that are awesome, but too big to bring around to certain places. Why do Apple headphones always break?!
- Kitten heels. Always out. & I repeat: always out (for me).

The Olsen Obsession

Can we please talk about why I have  had yet to post about the twins that I admire?! Keeping a low profile on their private lives allows me to focus on their classic, bohemian and slightly grunge style. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have definitely influenced more of my recent purchases, so I thought I'd dedicate a post with some of my favorite photographs of the Olsen twins. & yes, I do have a favorite...and it's Mary-Kate!

Hopefully I get to post some personal photos of mine in a different entry, but for now, enjoy! (I know it's picture heavy, but hey...it's love)
