Death Becomes Her

Hola! I finally got my hands on the Wildfox White Label Pfeiffer sweater about 2 months ago and thought that it was time to finally feature it on ma' blog. I can dress this bad boy up but decided to go for a super casual "comfy" throw-it-on-and-go look. This sweater is super baggy/oversized which makes for the perfectly awkward weather going on in Chicago. I also opted for this beautiful sky color instead of the black version because I wanted to step out of my zone a bit and am so happy with my decision. I made it slightly "less girly" by throwing on my cut-out pleather tights, Next time I wear it, I want to rock a dark vampy lip (like I did in an older blog post).
This is my 2nd Wildfox piece and I'm hooked - too bad my wallet isn't too fond of my latest obsession.

E V I L F A C E | UNIF Part 2 of 2

I told you that I loved the other sweater so much that I bought a similar one, and I went with my immediate "obsession" filled gut and bought them together. I was either going to hate them or love them, and well...we all know where I stand; UNIF, I love you so. The oatmeal color gives some light back into my wardrobe and the fact that it has a little evil face on it makes my inner alter grunge ego so happy. I paired it with my new American Apparel disco pants (and didn't know if to keep the sweater tucked in or out) and the same shoes as the last post. PS: Sorry for the photo bombardment, I just couldn't decide what would go up!

...and another "I'm cold - let me stick my tongue out" to end the post!

M E O W | UNIF Part 1 of 2

I was contemplating on whether or not I should get the "meow" sweater by UNIF, but I bit the bullet and bought it off of Dollskill and love it so much! The material is heavy without being too hot, it's slightly shorter in the front, it has a cat on it and the best part of all: it has fringed sleeves! Such a unique twist to a sweater. I wanted to shoot an outfit for it as soon as I got it but I ran out of ideas on how to wear it/style it (which is weird because I now have thought of a million). I ran to my comfort zone: all black. Paired it with my newest obsession: my Jeffrey Campbell 'Tardy' shoes.
I loved this sweater so much, I also got a similar one that I'll post tomorrow!

OOTD: Metallic & Oxblood

Definitely having a case of the 'Lazy Sunday's' but because the weather has been confusingly warmer (not that I'm complaining!), I decided to sort-of "dress up". This outfit is so comfy but still manages to look like there was a bit of effort to it, when in reality...I just threw everything on without thinking about it. Of course, I had to pull my hair up in a messy bun so no hair would be in my face. Funnily enough, as I type this out I realize I have not worn anything (from my outfit) before! But two of the newest items are my black bucket bag and new boots (which were described in the color of 'Oxblood'). Decided I would post up this outfit of the day (OOTD) since its been a while and I have to thank my sister for taking the pictures! I hope everyone's having a fabulous weekend. Enjoy!

OOTD: Chunky Knit Sweater Dress

Today marks the end of my last Fall semester at the university and I couldn't have ended it better than with my Politics of Fashion class. There were so many eclectic personalities in that course and they really drove me to challenge notions of fashion in society.
I probably committed my own fashion 'no-no's ' today by 1) Wearing a dress that is too long (the back of it, that is) on my 5 foot stature  and 2) Wearing black and shades of brown together. Who cares?! I like the contradicting pieces, I was comfortable, warm and felt that it really is a testament to how I like to style myself; not according to trends, but according to my tastes.
I finally was able to wear my chunky knit sweater dress that I picked up in New York a bit over a month ago. I love how warm it keeps me and the little details of the slouchy pockets to the elbow patches on to the back of it being much longer than the front; it makes me love it even more. It has such personality! I spruced up the outfit with my favorite and newest purchase: the spiked headband! Thankfully it was a hit and interested people. I also had to throw on the obligatory rings that I am currently obsessing and collecting (pun intended because of my blog URL name, haha)
If there's one way to identify what I love, it would have to be: nail polish, rings and shoes. I feel like those things encompass "me" and it helps that people already code me with those pieces.
Anywho, enjoy the post and the Christmas movies playing on ABC Family!
