In's & Out's No. 4

Being on break is so relaxing...maybe too relaxing. I never thought I'd say that. But here I am with my 4th post on my "In's and Out's"
Enjoy!

In's:

- Christmas....obviously. No, it's not about the gifts (even though that's nice), but the overall spirit and attitude people hold. Religious or not, I like this cheeky little holiday!
- School girl socks and Doc Martens.
- Labels: Opening Ceremony | Viktor & Rolf | VALENTINO
- Velvet
- Watching The Devil Wears Prada every night for 5 nights now; makes for amazing dreams...trust me :)
- My mother's cooking...but I mean, when is that NOT in?
- Leather and spiked everything, duh.
- Colored hair; pink, blue, green, white, etc. It's always refreshing to reinvent yourself, one way or another.

Out's:

- Leaving 'vital' things at my apartment back at school (always happens!)
- Toxic people <-- always an out!
- Corduroy
- My grandpa not being here for the holidays, stay warm in Mexico, boo.
- Eyeshadow that produces too much fall-out.
- Parking during the holidays.

"Zebra Island 2.0" | Inside Look of My Room

As I was cleaning up my room the other night, it hit me...I hadn't taken any pictures of my new  bedroom! I do it every year, for a new room that contains new memories. I know this post is very picture heavy and lacking any explanation, but what can I say? This is my little island, my creative bubble, my comfort zone. I call it "Zebra Island version 2.0" because of my ultimate favorite zebra carpet I acquired last year; it brings everything together. It's pretty representative of who I am and how my mind works. So enjoy the inside look!

Every finals week, I buy one or two small things that make me feel better. Whether it's a cupcake, a magazine or a candle, it automatically puts me in a great mood; it never fails! This time around I went and picked up some bits and bobs. V Magazine came out with their model issue and I had to snag up the cover with Bambi-Northwood Blyth and Lindsey Wixson on it (there were different covers available). Also picked up a ring (in my previous post) as well as a deep purple velvet braided hair band. Plus side: my mom ordered me my black velvet studded loafers from Topshop and they came in my time of need, haha.
It's the little things, definitely the little things.
Enjoy the post and the tune!

OOTD: Chunky Knit Sweater Dress

Today marks the end of my last Fall semester at the university and I couldn't have ended it better than with my Politics of Fashion class. There were so many eclectic personalities in that course and they really drove me to challenge notions of fashion in society.
I probably committed my own fashion 'no-no's ' today by 1) Wearing a dress that is too long (the back of it, that is) on my 5 foot stature  and 2) Wearing black and shades of brown together. Who cares?! I like the contradicting pieces, I was comfortable, warm and felt that it really is a testament to how I like to style myself; not according to trends, but according to my tastes.
I finally was able to wear my chunky knit sweater dress that I picked up in New York a bit over a month ago. I love how warm it keeps me and the little details of the slouchy pockets to the elbow patches on to the back of it being much longer than the front; it makes me love it even more. It has such personality! I spruced up the outfit with my favorite and newest purchase: the spiked headband! Thankfully it was a hit and interested people. I also had to throw on the obligatory rings that I am currently obsessing and collecting (pun intended because of my blog URL name, haha)
If there's one way to identify what I love, it would have to be: nail polish, rings and shoes. I feel like those things encompass "me" and it helps that people already code me with those pieces.
Anywho, enjoy the post and the Christmas movies playing on ABC Family!

Collection: Rings

I cannot get enough of rings! To think, about a year or two ago, I couldn't stand the thought of wearing rings on my fingers and now it's something that I feel is very "me". Does that make any sense? I have so many rings, from plastic to copper, to silver and even a faux-diamond panda encrusted one. It's safe to say that diamonds rings are THIS girl's best friend.
Here are some pictures of my rings...and obviously, they're not all photographed because I have too many.

Collection: LF Winter Lookbook

Bonjour!
It's the 1st of December and the super cold days have already greeted us, and though that may seem like such a drag, it also means that it's time to layer up and bust out those cozy warm jackets and sweaters. Heating up the weather is definitely LF (a store that can be found in New York, California, Florida, Massachusetts and Texas). Unfortunately there are no stores in Illinois and there isn't an online shopping option, but a girl can admire from afar, can't she? I'm head over heels for the velvet dress and oversized knit jumpers! Here's some pics of their lookbook (all courtesy of LF)
Enjoy and stay warm!
