NYFW | Rodarte F/W '12-'13

My favorite collection birthed by Rodarte. The attention to detail in the garments was just stunning. Laura and Kate Mulleavy, creators of Rodarte, definitely brought back the forties with their tailoring. The chunky cabled sweaters, cargo pants, utilitarian shearling jackets and romantic dresses make this label a winner for me. Moving beyond the clothes, which is hard to do, the hair pinned with the must-have starry clips and brilliant shoes make the looks work amazing together. The beauty of it all? It can go from runway --> ready-to-wear.

NYFW | Prabal Gurung F/W '12

Say it with me: PRABAL GURUNG!!!!!!!!! With that extreme introduction, I present to you one of the most flawless collections my eyes have gazed upon. Let me take a step back and allow Vogue to do the talking, "So Gurung upped the ante for fall, showing an extensive collection which ranged from sharp tailoring in black, sliced with black patent leather and elaborately worked fur, through printed and embellished dresses in blues, and on into beaded gowns and red-carpet dramatics. From the point of view of range, it demonstrated his ability to cover bases, and his skills in cutting—narrow, etiolated neoprene pants, great coats, slashed sleeves, and stiff, gored skirts. " It was so beautiful, elegant and electric and can we please talk about the eye-makeup? Flawless.

NYFW | Marc by Marc Jacobs F/W '12

Yes, I did see the Marc Jacobs collection but I preferred the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection better. This screamed 'geek chic' meets 'soft stompers' to me. I know it sounds strange, but the boots and hats with the softer elements of skirts and dresses made me think of it in that way. I know this may sound greedy but I want it all! I also have a soft spot for Marc Jacobs, so this collection seemed so perfect and up my alley. Let's not forget about the rugged colors with a pop strong blues and red...how could you not love it?
